Rates and Insurance

What do your services cost?

We provide clear, up front pricing for each service that RootEd offers. The cost of our services varies depending on what you're looking for: testing services or support services.

  • Testing is based on a Tier Level (1-5). Please check the webpage of the testing you are interested in for the most up-to-date information on pricing.

  • Support services like counseling, coaching, and advocacy work is based on an hourly model, ranging from $100-$200 an hour depending on the service. There are packages available as well. Please check the webpage of the support service you are interested in for the most up-to-date information on pricing.

  • We are a private pay practice, so we don't bill insurance companies directly. However, if your insurance plan has out-of-network benefits, we're happy to provide you with a superbill. You can then submit this to your insurer to request reimbursement for our services.

  • We understand that cost can be a barrier, and we do offer reduced rates through a sliding scale based on need. Please contact us to discuss your circumstances, and we can provide you with more information about our sliding scale options. If we're unable to meet your specific financial needs, we're also happy to help you find other qualified professionals who might be a better financial fit.

  • To make the cost of assessments and packages more manageable, we've divided the payment into three steps: 10% when we book your initial intake, 50% when we schedule the assessment appointments, and the final 40% when we arrange your feedback session.

    For our hourly services, such as counseling or coaching, payment is conveniently due at the end of each session.

  • We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), as well as HSA and FSA cards.

    For card transactions, our billing is securely processed through Stripe, and a processing fee of 2.9% will be applied. To avoid this fee, we also offer the option of paying via ACH (direct bank transfer), which has no processing charge.

Why don’t you bill insurance ?

  • We understand that the cost of testing can be a concern for families. Navigating insurance coverage for these services can also add stress and uncertainty. By having a straightforward, direct payment system, we aim to remove some of that financial guesswork, making it easier for you to access the assessments your child needs.

  • We believe your therapy should be guided by what your family needs to feel better and grow, not by the requirements of an insurance company. By not being bound by their regulations, we can tailor your services in the way that best supports your unique journey.

  • When insurance is involved, we're required to share certain details. To give you more control over your private information and who has access to it, we work directly with you.

  • Sometimes, insurance companies have limitations on the types of services they cover, which might not include everything that could be helpful for you (like academic assessments or IEP coaching). By working directly with you, we can offer a wider range of approaches and supports tailored to your unique needs, without being restricted by insurance coverage.
