  • Therapeutic counseling can be a really valuable support for your child in a number of ways. Through counseling, your child can learn coping mechanisms and strategies to manage difficult emotions like anxiety, sadness, or anger. 1 A therapist can also help them develop better communication skills, improve their self-esteem, and work through any behavioral issues they might be facing. 2 Ultimately, the goal is to empower your child with the tools they need to navigate life's ups and downs in a healthy and resilient way.

  • The length of time your child will be in therapy is unique to their individual needs and the specific issues being addressed.

Some children might benefit from shorter-term therapy focused on a specific challenge, while others might find longer-term support more helpful for deeper-rooted issues or ongoing personal growth.

The therapist will work with you and your child to assess their progress and determine the appropriate duration of therapy. This will be an ongoing conversation throughout the process.
